Dutch- Matilda and Abe

Matt Kennedy Dutch Winnipeg

Hello, this is Dutch.  He is about 4 months old now.  He is full of energy- he loves

playing with anyone or anything he can get his ‘paws’ on; his toys, especially his

stuffed, blue toy gorilla that squeeks, and the cat, Kitty.  Dutch loves to run

around and watch what is going on around him.  But he is also pretty quiet.  He

always greets you at the door when you come home. Dutch loves hugs and kisses, and

loves to cuddle with you when he is tired.

Stella from Matilda and Abe

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

Hi there I have a puppy out of Matilda and Abe with there 2007 litter and I couldn’t be happier. Stella is a beautiful bully who turns heads wherever we go. She is very smart and her temperament is just what I wanted. She is a very carefree dog who absolutely loves other people and animals. I want to thank Stell City American Bulldogs for this amazing dog who is not a pet but a part of my family. The breeders where amazing when it came to getting her I was always full of questions and emailed them or called them quite a bit until I got her and they were always helpful. I could tell that they \ loved there dogs and were very committed to helping everyone involved with them. And when it came to shipping her to me that did everything possible to make sure she arrived safely. I received phone calls with updates on her flight. They are great people who made picking the right dog very easy. Thanks again.

Miracle

Puppies started to open their eyes now.
They are 12 days. They are growing and healthy.
Everything is going well. We had an emergency with one pup which got really cold. Unfortunately the emergency vet was not prepared to help our little guy but we did manage to save him. From this experience we have few tips for everybody who is thinking of breeding their dogs.
Bringing the pup back to life is an amazing feeling but if the effort is not successful it can be heartbreaking. If you consider breeding be prepared to put in a lot of work that will not pay off. That s the hard part about being a dog breeder. If you consider breeding do your research very well and never stop learning.

If you notice that the pup is cold, flattened out and gasping for breath this is a pup that is very close to dying. There is no time to waste at this point and you have to warm him up as soon as possible. The best way is to put the pup up to its neck into warm water. Keep your puppy there until you see that it is warmed up. Keep water warm do not let the water get cool.
After you take the pup out dry it with the towel and make sure the room temperature is high.
Keep massaging and handling the pup. Do not let it to flatten out.

Your pup might be dehydrated especially if in your efforts to warm it up temperature is too hot. To check if the pup is dehydrated pinch it s skin.
if skin flattens out quickly then it is ok but if it holds the pinch then your pup is dehydrated and it needs fluids. Chances are that you do not have fluids on hand and your vet is closed. If this is the case feed your puppy Gatorade this will hydrate him much better then water.

Quick advice on the vet. If you feel that your vet is not professional and you do not feel they care about your animal find another one.
We have a great vet who is very helpful that we can recommend:
www.lyndenanimalclinic.com

I do not recommend Askey Animal Hospital

Address: 3525 Fairview St. Burlington

Phone: (905) 634-9088

Toll free 1 877 573-8838

Hours: Open 24 Hours

Even though they are open 24/7 and they operate under regular non emergency rate their service is bad. We could have loose the puppy because lack of care. Unfortunately we were not informed that the medication should be kept in the fridge … so our puppy was on the useless medication for about 10 days until I realized that something isn’t working and called my vet. After replacing the medication puppy started to feel a lot better in 36 hours. We lost $100 on bad service.

Bully and Feisty in leash free

Friday, October 19th, 2007

We must help our dogs learn how to cope and respond, in a healthy and acceptable manner, to new people, animals and places. It is important for all breeds but the most important for bully breed.

By exposing our dogs to different kinds of people, animals and environments, which involves everything from dog obedience classes to vet visits to walks to the park, we can help them develop confidence.

No matter when you adopt your dog, you can apply canine socialization principles to help him or her be a more stable, happy, trustworthy companion.

Socialization does not end at puppy hood. While the foundation for good behavior is laid during the first few months, good owners encourage and reinforce social skills and responsiveness to commands throughout the dog s life.

Veterinarians, dog trainers and other dog professionals urge new puppy owners to take their dogs to puppy classes and to provide other socializing experiences. Although this is excellent advice, a puppy class by 4 months of age or a basic training class at 6 months shouldn t be the end of a dog s social training.

Bring your puppy to the local leash free park and let it meet other dogs and people. Make sure you teach your puppy appropriate behavior. Watch for domination signals and make sure to step in if your dog plays to rough with smaller dogs.nn-087.jpg

Zeus from Matilda and Chopper

Friday, October 19th, 2007

Zeus is a big and lovely boy, whit a very huge head, at just 1½ year of age. Weigh 45 Kilo.

He is an extremely happy dog and very friendly to all human and dogs, he doesn’t need to emphasise his position to other dogs, neither female ore male. Wich is very important to us.

He is all in all, the dog we whished for.

He is still a teenager and loves to run around and play, loves to struggle.

His movement is not the best, if I don’t hit the right speed when we are running at shows. He normaly wins 1 price, in his class, if he runs smoothly, but never the second time around, due to the way he runs… like a happy rabbit, whit rear-end, both legs up under him at the same time… but we LOVE that boy.

He has past the German temperament test ZTP at the 11. Phingst Show this year.

His PennHip is 0.43 and 0.50, and our vet says that he has a A ore maybe B-hip.

We have also got a request on a stud whit him, from The Netherlands. And we have also just used him on our own Bullforce Kimmi, and are expecting puppies around week 2-3 next year.
