Alabama & Abe breeding go to www.alphamalekennel.com to see more
Sunday, January 13th, 2008Alabama is the pup that we produced in 2006 from Matilda and Chopper. Alabama is owned my Steve Jelly from Alpha Male KennelShe has been bred with Abe.
Female dogs , can mate twice a year during their heat or estrus cycle. The female dog swells and sheds blood much like a menstrual period for 5-15 days, after which she will accept a male. If breeding your female dog it is essential to keep track of dates and characteristics of your dog’s cycle so you will know when she is ready to mate. When choosing a stud for your female dog to mate with, keep the breed standards in mind and it’s ideal features.
Once two dogs are chosen to partner, a breeder will guide them through the mating process, providing opportunity and assistance if necessary. Ideally, multiple matings should take place to increase the chance of insemination. However, dogs should not mate too many times in one day to prevent exhaustion. If natural conception is not possible, artificial insemination for canines is now a viable option but also an expensive undertaking which does not guarantee a successful outcome.

Wednesday, January 9th, 2008The Sixth and Seventh Weeks
This is a time of wonder and curiosity for the young pup,but he is also very sensitive to emotional harm. His
emotions will be revealed; he’ll start barking to get attention, whining to show fear, and whimpering if hurt .
Take care not to scare or upset him in any way. It’s best that the dog be allowed to relate one on one with a human
being, allowing trust to start to build. It is also a time of great fan. He should be given a supply of toys, because
he will be very rambunctious and needs them to interact. If he goes too far when playing, his mother will put him in
his place. When the puppies are weaned, have their own teeth, and can eat by themselves, the mother dog assumes
the role of alpha or pack leader. The mother will show her puppies - using toys - when it’s appropriate to bite.
Puppies will also attack each other to establish dominance and to determine who the alpha is.

Monday, January 7th, 2008Stella out of Abe and Matilda 2007
Hey there I just wanted to give you a update on Stella. She is doing awesome and is weighing in at 55 pounds right now. Her vet is very happy with how healthy she is. Her first christmas was a great one she got spoiled from me and even got gifts from our grandmother and my mom sent her gifts from Newfoundland. She is a very happy go lucky dog that turns heads where ever we go!We love her.She and the cat have finally realized that they can be friends and the have started playing which is the funniest thing ever. She graduated at the top of her class in puppy class and now we are thinking about putting her in another one later this spring. So thanks again for everything! I am always telling people that this breed is a amazing breed and they all know where she came from! I know when I get another puppy it’s going to be
another AB and it’s gonna hopefully come from you guys. Here are some of the latest pics of Stella.Enjoy!
Rocky out of Chopper and Chevelle 2007
Here is a picture of Rocky at 6months old he is starting his head is starting to fill out. he is weighing over 80 His tempermant is great.Everyone who meets him still can’t believe he is a puppy still. They say he is well behaved for a puppy. My one year old son jumps on him and he just lays there and takes it he is very gentle with the youngest. He plays a little rougher with my 11 year old. It’s like he knows who he has to be gentle with. When I tell him to settle down when the dogs are playing he will go lie down on the dog chair. But over all he is great, even my father in law said to me he doesn’t give him enough credit.
